No One Knows Who You Are Yet
You can be talented and still invisible.
That's one of the first hard lessons after school. You might have the skills. You might be serious. You might be ready. But if no one knows what you can do, the world doesn't come looking.
I found that out applying for my first jobs.
I send out applications. Then I wait. Nothing. No replies. No interviews. No calls.
I'm checking my email constantly. Refreshing the inbox. Wondering what's wrong with me.
Then it lands. No one knew who I was. There was no office somewhere with a person looking for Ham, going through CVs for my name.
I was the one looking. Which meant I had to go and find them.
You leave school thinking life keeps working the way school did. A teacher tells you what chapter is next. An exam tells you what to study. A timetable tells you where to be.
Then it stops. No reminders. No instructions. No next chapter.
You have to start looking. Introduce yourself. Send the application. Follow up. Keep going when no one replies.
The world is full of opportunities. Opportunity just doesn't know your name yet.
Learning a skill is one job. Getting someone to notice it is a different one.
You can be hardworking and unknown at the same time. That doesn't mean you're not good enough. It means nobody has seen you work.
So stop waiting for opportunity to find you. Put yourself where it can see you.
